Ranchland at the base of the Teton Mountains, Jackson, Wyoming
“At a plein air event in Jackson Hole, WY, I was painting on a quiet evening near Spring Gulch Road along the sweeping ranchlands at the base of the Tetons. Not captured as often, this painting reflects “The Grand” as seen from the south. Standing there painting, I could almost “hear” the stillness of sundown broken only by the last slivers of light slipping across the pasture and pastel, muted peak. A smattering of wildflowers along a shadowed, irrigation streamlet added a bit of color and sky reflection, the only elements breaking the evening’s broad expanse of meadow grasses.” Darcie Peet
