“After a long day’s hike to the far end of Lake Louise, then higher to where the trail abruptly terminated at the base of Mt. Victoria, our return led us back down through pine and aspen forest with occasional meadows scattered with wildflowers. The tumbling glacier-fed, mountain stream we followed eventually flowed into stunning, aqua Lake Louise initially meandering through the shallows and around patterns of sandbars. Very different views of the iconic lake are seen from this direction, but no less dramatic with Mt. Richardson tipped in September snow in the background.” Darcie Peet
