Otto Van Veen "Apollo And Venus" oil on canvas (courtesy of CNN)

Prior to President’s Day weekend of 2016, Robert Warren, executive director of the Hoyt Sherman Place art complex in Des Moines, Iowa was searching through the gallery closet for a Civil War flag when he came upon a dingy painting showing cracks and water damage. Through extensive research, he would come to find the painting of “Apollo And Venus” to be by 16th-century Dutch master artist Otto van Veen (1556-1629). Value of this painting could be well beyond $4 million. For the full story and a video interview with Mr. Warren, go to the CNN website.
