Kyle Ma

Kyle Ma biography:

Born in 2000, Kyle Ma is a nationally recognized representational oil painter known for his expressive plein air landscapes and command of traditional painting techniques. Raised in Austin, Texas, he began studying oil painting at an early age under the guidance of Elizabeth Locke, later expanding his training through workshops with leading artists across the United States.

Although he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin, Ma chose to pursue painting full-time. He credits his scientific education with sharpening his powers of observation and analytical thinking—skills that play a vital role in his approach to painting directly from life.

Ma has received numerous honors, including the Gold Medal at the 30th Annual Oil Painters of America National Exhibition. His work has appeared on the covers of American Art Collector and PleinAir Magazine, and has been featured in publications such as Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwest Art, and Art of the West. In addition to his studio and plein air practice, Ma regularly teaches workshops and lectures at national art events.
