On June 9th, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City gave out a select group of awards to some of the participating Prix de West artists. The coveted Prix de West Award, which includes a beautiful medallion, a $5,000 check, and most importantly, this artwork becomes part of the museum’s permanent collection. This year, Mian Situ was presented with the Prix de West Award for his painting “Blasting A Route Through The Sierra Nevada Mountains, 1865, Central Pacific Railroad”. Additional awards were handed out and we share each one with photos and listings below. During the closing ceremonies, sales figures for the sale were announced at over $3.1 million.
