“The subject I chose for this painting is Miao people, one of the largest minority populations in China. The areas is located in the southwest. I like to express and share the curiosity and sense of discovery that characterized Miao tradition through this painting. Not only are the figure’s dressing corns and glazed pots in the background identified with their culture, but also I want the viewer to focus on the new shoes, which are so important at that moment, and enjoy the atmosphere of love and serenity in it.” Jie Wei Zhou
