“Vermilion Lakes, Banff National Park, Canadian Rockies, Alberta, Canada. Our first day of a week hiking in the Canadian Rockies, we were up before dawn on a chilly, September morning to wait for the sun to rise. We soon learned this is a popular spot in the Bow River Valley for photographers, as the narrow road along the lakes was already lined with folks waiting with tripods and cameras to shoot this setting. No one was disappointed, as this was the surprise burst of color and reflection that happened minutes later with iconic Mt. Rundle towering in the background.” Darcie Peet
