Miguel Malagon biography:
Miguel is a Chicago based painter working in a variety of mediums, including oils, pastel, and watercolor. Having recieved his formal training at the American Academy of Art, he can often be seen painting in the streets of Chicago and it’s suburbs. His work reflects scenes of light filled color. Miguel continues to develop and refine his work by painting from life on a weekly basis most notably at the Palette and Chisel, a 100 year old art club here in Chicago.
Artist Statement:
I am drawn and attracted to scenes of everyday life and everyday people, they offer a glimpse into the lives of people and places that we might not other wise notice. I want my work to be a bridge for the viewer to enter that world and see what I saw as I painted the scene, while trying to retain the fidelity and integrity of the scene and the people as best I can.
