Known as one of the top western and American art auctions, the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction held its’ annual sale on July 28, 2018 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. A large crowd was on hand for an energetic and active event. The highlight of the auction was Alfred Jacob Miller’s “The Thirsty Trapper” which realized $1,715,000. This was very close to the auction record for a Miller painting. Howard Terpning’s “Dust Of Many Pony Soldiers” sold for $819,000 and Edgar Payne’s “Solitude’s Enchantment” sold for $476,000. All of these prices include the buyer’s premium. The Coeur d’Alene Art Auction final sales results exceed $13.2 million and over 90% of the lots sold.
