James Kramer Rue De La Bonne Paris France architecture Europe city cobblestone street landscape watercolor painting

“The painting was a page from a Paris sketch book, August 1977 and was an unframed gift to Dr. David Smith, a close friend of artist Robert Lougheed and very helpful to us when we needed support. Rue de la Bonne is in Montmartre, Arr. 18, near Sacre Cour. So, this watercolor is in Paris, France and from a very well-known part of the city. At that time, I would have been doing direct sketches on a watercolor block, Strathmore 3-ply series 5 medium surface Bristol.”   James Kramer
